Brian McCourt is an active leader in Clinical Research Informatics and significant contributor to various professional societies, research programs and standards development initiatives in clinical and translational research. He currently serves as Director of the Clinical Research Informatics group at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, providing leadership to informatics research projects and the research information systems supporting translational research at DCRI.  Brian is chair of DCRI’s Data Governance Board, co-leads the Innovations Core for DCRI’s NIH-funded Trials Innovation Center program, is a contributor to the Medical Device Epidemiology Network (MDEpiNet), a FDA-Duke public-private partnership, and serves as mentor for Duke graduate student informatics projects.  He served as founding co-chair of the HL7 Cardiology Special Interest Group and the HL7 Clinical Interoperability Council and led multiple projects creating harmonized CDISC and HL7 standards.
